A lengthy prison sentence, definitely in the eye of the beholder. A Lifer would dismiss anything less than four years since this means you serve 90% of your time in minimum. Warehoused. Put ’em to work I say, stuff political envelopes, pick strawberries. Anyone doing a stretch is a waste of inexpensive human services. If inmates feel useful and valuable, they will return as a contributing, empowered member of society.
